1. Energy Efficiency

• Transitioning all offices to 100% renewable electricity by 2026.

• Installing smart meters and LED lighting across all premises.

• Reducing paper use by 90% through digital care planning and e-records.

2. Sustainable Transport

• Replacing all petrol vehicles with electric or hybrid vehicles by 2030.

• Implementing zonal rostering to reduce travel distances and fuel consumption.

• Encouraging staff use of public transport, car-sharing, and cycle-to-work schemes.

3. Procurement and Supply Chain

• Engaging suppliers committed to low-carbon or circular economy practices.

• Assessing supply chain emissions and including sustainability criteria in all procurement contracts.

4. Waste Reduction

• Eliminating single-use plastics from operations by 2026.

• Implementing recycling and composting schemes across offices and client settings.

• Partnering with local waste providers who operate under zero-to-landfill commitments.

5. Staff Awareness and Culture

• Delivering sustainability training to all staff annually.

• Establishing a Green Champions Group to promote sustainable practices and monitor office efficiency.

• Encouraging homeworking and digital meetings to reduce travel-related emissions.

Governance and Monitoring

OHCI's Carbon Reduction Plan is managed by our Registered Manager as part of our Quality Management System. OHCI is currently working on becoming seeking to be ISO14001 by 2028. Emission data is calculated in accordance with the UK Government GHG Conversion Factors for Company Reporting and verified annually through internal audit.
